Traveling Adventures!

This year for Thanksgiving it was time to go and visit my family in Utah!! It always seems like the time between visits gets longer and longer. I love being able to go back and catch up with family and friends! For this trip we were able to borrow David's grandpas truck to bring some things back with us. The best part of this deal was that David had to drive!!
Doesn't he look GOOD behind the wheel!?

The truck is a stick and I am not the best at it so I got to be co-pilot both ways! This year the weather worked in our favor and we had clear roads and blue sky's the whole way through- this is always a great thing! The only thing that almost happened was that a badger almost became road kill- this thing was huge I was glad we didn't hit it! Our day was long and un-eventfull but we made it to UT in one piece! Tank of course did good as usual in the truck- he mainly slept on the floor and cuddled with a pillow! hehe TEE PEE!! Also while we were in UT we got to go and visit with Laura and Kenny and there cutest little girl Abbie! We were lucky that we got to sit and visit with them for so long- hopefully they weren't sick of us! I did however get to be selfish and hold her the whole time we were there. I also convinced David to hold her as well- it was super CUTE!! He definitely looks good holding a little one! ;) The best part is that now he is at least thinking about kiddos now! We are slowly getting the idea in his head even though we are not there yet, the seed has been planted in his mind! Cute baby plan=SUCCESS! I loved the time we got to spend with them both I wish we were closer.

I promise we're both a lot cuter in person! I blame the camera! We took so many pictures of this cutie! This is the closet smile one we got!
I hear its hard to capture!

The next adventure was good ol' Turkey Day! Oh the wonderful food! Grandma Baer was the cook this year and she did an amazing job as per usual. We had almost the whole family together and it was good to see everyone. There was of course one thing missing for David- coveted BLUEBERRY PIE! Good thing his mama has it on her list for Christmas! On the other hand I did get to enjoy some home made rolls and the coveted JELLY! Oh how we all love grandmas jelly! The day was good just to be with family and eat some good food- it's always a good combination!

While we were home we also had our family pictures taken by Joni my cousins wife- hopefully they turn out cute! We will see soon! Pictures will be shown once we get them. We got to spend lots of time with family while home which was really good! We of course played some rock band, shopped and just got to hang out! We love being able to come down when we get the chance to and miss everyone once we are gone! :(The only thing that I didn't get while I was there was my peach rainbow- I guess I will have to come back soon- darn it! While we were there we picked up David and Tanks new love- a KING SIZE mattress! It took quite a bit of effort to get the thing out of the truck and in the house with just the two of us, but we got it in and set up. Tank for the first time laid on the bed with us and got down quite a while after we fell asleep wich doesn't happen ever! He usually gets down right away! David even slept the best he had in a long time! I am not feeling the love- he loves the space between us and I feel like a million miles away! Thanks again mom! We love you all and will hopefully seen everyone shortly. Until next trip LOVE YOU all! Hope everyone had a good Turkey Day!

Home-ward bound! :(

HALLOWEEN adventures!

These past few weeks have gone by pretty fast- seems like October has come and gone! I got into the spirit a little and made some Halloween cupcakes that turned out pretty cute!

Sceleton Cupcakes!

The usual Halloween traditions were a "bit altered" this year! I am usually the only one who dresses up and David doesn't. He usually stands by and thinks I am just his crazy wife! We have spent the last few years just hanging out at home, handing out candy to the cute little neighborhood kids. The most festive thing we did was carving pumkins! Well, not this year! The day started out quite early @ 4:30 am for David, he was headed out to go hunting with Kurt. They both went there seperate ways on the search for the perfect elk. After a few hours and passing up about 5 or 6 big ones there was a shot and then a phone call. On the phone was one super excited guy saying he had shot a BIG ONE! (that's what he had to tell me- I didn't know all the fancy talk at that time) He found his prize 6X6 elk! Then the search began- he had shot the elk, but it had run down the hill into a ravine into a spot that made it quite difficult to get it out of! His dad and him ended up riding it down the hill and wrestling with it for a few hours untill they could no longer get it any farther by themselves. At that point me, papa and mom came to the rescue to help them the rest of the way out! This is how we found him- now he has dressed up with out me! He had been laying on the side of the hill soaked to the bone waiting! It was quite the adventure to get this elk down the side of the hill the rest of the way! It took all of us with the help of a big sled and the trusty six wheeler! Then he got to "ride" it down the road a ways so that we could get to a spot that he could be loaded into the truck! So, about 4:30 pm and a long 8 adventurous hours later we got this monster of an elk the whole 3 miles back to the house. By this time he was wiped out! He managed to finish processing the elk and passed out for the night! Next came his many days of telling everyone! Can you blame him? This thing was big! We shall now enjoy the benefits of this kill for many months to come and the many years of seeing his antlers on the wall! These are just a few more pics to show a better view!
The super happy hubby!
The antlers are half the size of his body!

These are what will be on my wall in a few months so that he can stare at them all day!

What great adventures and hopes of a bigger one next year! Can you see a big head on the wall?

Is it worth it??

So, I am baffled is it all worth it in the end? I just have to wonder if doctors really just want more $$$ from you! So I went to the eye doctor and of course I am still as blind as a bat! (this is a direct quote from the doctor) Which is some what fitting for this time of the year I guess! I have quite a few issues with my eyes as per usual- the good news is my main disease which is keratoconus- fancy way of saying my eyes are coning and thinning- has not gotten any worse as of last year! This just means I "most likely" wont have to wear hard lenses. I do have astigmatisms in both eyes that have gotten worse- of course-which explains why I cant see as well! Now on top of that I have another big long worded disease that basically means I have irritation across my eye and my eyes are swollen all the time. Of course I'm thinking OK that's enough- but no I have chronic dry eye as well! Which "should" feel like I have something under my contact at all times! But do I feel anything- No- he says my eyes are like scars- they have built up a tolerance to the pain apparently! I say good- he says no good! He then proceeds to recommend a few daily prescriptions to help my eyes feel better- I say ok if I have to! That is until he told me it could be $100 a month for everything and I at least have to do it all for 6 months at the minimum! Of course they told me this after I had just forked over $100 for my uber special contacts! If I don't feel anything is it really worth all the money to not feel any different?! Needless to say I am wearing my glasses for now and according to the doc I should wear them for at least a few weeks to give my eyes a break! Gotta love doctors!

Glasses- UGH!!

Our Life...

So I finally join the bloggin world... this is for those of you that have asked me to keep them clued in to my life and want to know what we are up to! I will do my best to keep it up!

Well we dont have too much going on in our world lately! We have both been working away our days with a little bit of fun in between! Just to update you in case you all don't know David is curruently working at a Sign Shop... making signs of course! This has been a big change for him seeing as the job he has done his whole life is building fence. I think he is enjoying the new change of pace and all the signs he sees around town that he has made! I have been working at the same heating and air conditioning company that I have been with since we moved here. This year marks my 3rd year with them. It has been very busy the last little while but that does make the days go by faster! We still have our buddy Tank who always keeps us on our toes and keeps us entertained! We have learned from him that all the dirty socks must go in the hamper with something on the hamper lid or they end up in his mouth. He always grabs them and stands there untill you get up to take it away and then the chase is on!! We also have found that we go through lots of marshmallows- they are his favorite treats!

Just the 2 of us!

Our tankers- doesnt he look so sweet and inocent!

We don't really have anything too exciting coming up, but with our fresh new snow that has fallen tonight David can't wait to hit the slopes and start another new year of SNOWBOARDING!! He cant wait to get out there and jump higher and farther than last year! The sad thing is I got him into boarding and now he kicks my butt down the hill! :( I think that this year I will have to vamp up my skills and show him how good I can be! You'll have to stay tuned for the upcoming season and pics of adventures!

Check out those mad skills!
