Cone of Shame....

Daisy got fixed on Saturday and it has been a loooong 10 days of taking care of her. We took her in bright and early and when we picked her up later that day she was in the saddest looking puppy ever! She was still quite drugged and looked pretty pathetic with her cone head. :(
Over the next 10 days I had to take her to work with me and at night we made her a caged off area so she didn't have to be crammed into the kennel.
She didn't even like to chew her on bone that we got her to help occupy her down time...
But don't worry Tank took care of it for her!
We even put an old tank top on her every so often so that she could have a break from the cone.
We did have another cone that we had used with Tank so we got it out and worked much better. She still ran into everything but it didn't stop her from being crazy.
We got sent home with lots of medicine for her including a sedative seeing as she can be a spastic little thing!
It's been a long 10 days and we are so happy she is all healed and back to her normal crazy self!

Anniversary weekend

6 years and how did we spend it? Looking at these views while looking for elk... yes you read that right!
It's not exactly my first choice, but it did turn out to be a good weekend. On Saturday we spent the day hiking around the mountain looking for sign of elk being in the area... or in my case huffing and puffing to keep up! I acted like I was taking in the views or checking out something that might be a sign. I am pretty sure he was on to me though! :)
On Sunday we went on a hike with David parents and ended up at a high mountain lake that was
very pretty.
The other cool thing that happened was that I saw allot of animals over the 2 days. Generally when David sees an animal and tries to take me to see it- I don't ever see anything. That luck changed!! On our hike Saturday we saw 2 big bull moose (David said they were the biggest he had ever seen). Then that night I saw to buck's and Sunday we saw 2 more moose! It was pretty cool to actually see these moose pretty close it makes you realize just how
little you are!
(this was the best of all our sightings to get a pic of)
I sure do love this man and tried to do something fun on our 5 year anniversary and again this year, but things  happen! Maybe I should plan a 10 year anniversary!! We have been through TONS of struggles, TONS of triumphs and TONS of great times together. We have some great adventures coming our way and I can't wait to got through them with you!
OLIVE YOU!!

play both so you get the effect!)

Valance Family Weekend

The annual Valance family weekend was full of fun and laughter as per usual. Unfortunately David was out of town working so it was just me and the dogs headed to Kremmling. We went up on Friday night and spent the night at mom's house before heading to the Pesch house for the day. We spent the majority of the day on the lake soaking up the sun and having a great time.
Later on we went back to the house to have dinner and a bon-fire.
It's always a comedic event when you get the whole family together. We are a quirky bunch, but I sure do love them all!

Weekend Visitors

Mom and the girls came to join us for a weekend and I was super happy to have them here. We spent the weekend shopping, shopping and mainly shopping. Of course we did throw in a trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I thought it was going to be boring, but it turned out to be pretty fun. While we were there we went and saw a 3D movie about polar bears and got to wear some sweet glasses.
After church on Sunday we took the dogs to the lake and of course Madi took the opportunity to do a photo shoot.
Once Daisy comes out of the water she runs away and you have to chase her down.
She can fly! :)
 so pathetic looking...

 wait for me...
all done swimming and oh so tired!
After all that swimming a nap was in order...
Of course that didn't last too long before the wrestling began!
And what better way to end the evening then everyone on a i-pad or laptop and you better believe Madi was involved, but she thought it was funny and we needed to document it!

The next few days were spent shopping and hanging out as usual. It was fun to have them come and visit for a few days and look forward to the next visit!

Independence Day

This 4th of July was pretty laid back and since it was the middle of the week we decided that we were going to be lazy. We slept in and didn't do anything that required much energy. We did decide to take the dogs to Carter Lake and let them swim for a bit which was fun. Tank absolutely LOVES the water and will fetch all day. Daisy is getting there- she likes to swim, but after a while becomes a bit whiny because she's tired.
After we took the dogs we came back and chilled until the fireworks. We decided not to go to Lake Loveland where they do them, but once we heard them starting we stepped outside. It was quite nice standing in the middle of the road snuggling my man and watching the fireworks above the rooftops. No one was out doing fire works due to the fact that they were banned this year with all the major fires in the area. Then we put the truck tail gate down and finished the rest of the show as the pups played in the back of the truck. After that we came inside and watched the Macy's fireworks on TV and called it a night. It was nice not having to fight the crowds or the dogs going crazy with all the neighborhood fireworks. It was a nice relaxing 4th of July and I couldn't think of anyone better to spend it with!
